About the owners

The Forbes Family

Listed since April 2015

Our history goes back to 1966, when farmer Alistair Graham Forbes brought his wife and son, Cindy and Micheal to Omachie Farmhouse, Kingennie. When Mike was six he caught his first fish in the Buddon Burn, and his passion for fishing was born. Mike converted part of the farm into a fishery and fishing lodges in 1995. The success of this venture encouraged him and his wife Gail to continue to invest and create the resort that you see today. The Forbes family are very passionate about Kingennie and hope to share this passion with all those who visit.

Owner recommendations

  • The V&A Museum of Design opened in Dundee in September 2018, and is a wonderful showcase of Scotland's design heritage and more.

  • Visit Charleton Fruit Farm in Montrose for some lunch, then get to work picking some berries for dessert.

  • Broughty Ferry is home to a lovely beach and is only a five minute drive from the resort.
